You will find Moreton is like a hub of a wheel, all roads from it lead to beautiful and quaint villages around the “Wolds”.
Some of the main towns and villages to see are the Slaughters, such a terrible name for such a quaint village with a river and bridges and an “old world mill”.
Bourton-on-the-water, the Venice of the Cotswolds full of all its “old world shops” which are superb in the Spring, Summer and Autumn but most of all at Christmas with the Dickensian market. You also have Broadway which is on the way to Evesham, along with Snowshill and its manor. It is only a short ride to Stratford-upon-Avon; the home of the Baird. On your way back you might like an early tea in the beautiful town of Chipping Campden with its thatched roofs and medieval market.
A short walk into Moreton and you can take a train to the great university city of Oxford. You also have within 10 minuet drive Stow-on-the-Wold made famous by King Charles and his Cavaliers and latterly by the writer of “Wind in the willows”. Also close by are North Leach famous for its woollen trade and Bibury for its trout.
As you drive around the lanes you will come across Castles, Manor Houses and occasionally have to give way to horses and riders and ever present 4 wheel drives
